RETURNEES

Migrants who no longer see a future in Belgium can decide to return ‘voluntarily’ to their country of origin. Voluntary return is often the last resort after a failed migration journey to Europe. ‘Returnees’ is a film about this complex decisionmaking, process of doubt, hope and imagination, composed as a mosaic of stories from different returnees: from their first thoughts of returning, through to their first moments upon arrival back in their country of origin.
